08. Clothing care
Pampering your clothes is pampering yourself!
Your underwear is your second skin. Here are some practical tips to help you make your clothes last longer and in better condition.
A) Underwear
Follow the washing instructions on the garment label. Here are some more recommendations:
✔ Try to wash your clothes by hand, with warm water and without soaking. If you use the washing machine, protect the garments by putting them in a cloth or mesh bag, as underwired bras may be damaged causing the wiring to come out.
✔ Machine washing can damage the filling of the cups. Never use very hot water, because it can shrink garments.
✔ Use neutral soap, but make sure you like the smell.
✔ Wash dark and light colours separately so that the colours do not run.
✔ Do not use bleach, as it might damage the colours and/or fabrics.
✔ Carefully hang them out to dry away from direct sunlight so that they don't get damaged and wrinkle less.
✔ Avoid the dryer: the heat will damage the fibres. Never iron your underwear.
✔ We advise you to keep them in your drawer along with a bar of soap so that they always smell good (I confess it's my grandmother's trick).
B) Swimwear
Follow the same advice as for underwear, but also:
✔ Rinse your swimsuits and bikinis in warm water after each use.
C) Lingerie
Follow the same advice as for underwear but don't forget to:
✔ Turn your clothes inside out before washing them.
✔ Ironing temperatures:
✔ Cotton, linen, viscose (200ºC max).
✔ Wool and polyester blends (150ºC max).
✔ Silk, rayon or acrylic fabrics (110ºC max).
D) Pyjamas
Follow the washing instructions on the garment label. We also recommend:
✔ Never use very hot water, because it can shrink the garment.
✔ Wash dark and light colours separately so the colours don't mix.
✔ Do not use bleach, as it might damage colours and/or fabrics. Remember to iron them inside out.
